We picked Mr. Steve Austin and his company, Quality Preferred, prior to discovering he had already won this award. The reason we chose him was because he stood head and shoulders above a number of other bidders on the job, for three salient reasons. 1. He took copious notes on every aspect of the job; 2. he so obviously wanted to do the very best job possible because he discussed each part of it with us in detail, always encouraging us to make the best improvement possible in a given area; 3. Steve got back to us quickly with a detailed estimate which was crystal clear on what was projected to be done. Further, Steve started precisely when he said he would. As well, on the first day he must have been on-site a couple of hours, making certain his workers understood precisely what they were to do, walking through the smallest details with them, treating them with respect, entertaining their opinions. His workers were exceptionally professional, courteous, and punctual. They have worked a number of years for Steve. One of them detailed the companies he’s worked for and said Steve was by far and away the best boss, better even than his own father! They clearly revere Steve, and the duration of their employment testifies to good working relationships. Steve proved flexible. An improvement in the kitchen he’d suggested–replacing tiles with beadboard–on which we initially demurred, once the job started, we decided Steve was right and he accommodated the additional work, doing a superb job. When this required us to bring in an electrician, Steve’s workers cooperated with the electrician; hence, that additional, unplanned, piece of the project was accomplished with dispatch. The electrician, from a local company, complemented Steve’s workers in adjusting what they were doing to his needs, thereby enabling him to accomplish his work faster. The quality of the work completed is impeccable. Steve not only started on time but ended on time, even given that we asked for a couple more pieces of work to be done along the way. He also subcontracted the refinishing of the floors; those workers were as prompt, efficient, and professional as if they worked directly for Steve. The work was excellent as well. We endorse Steve, his workers, and his company enthusiastically for this award with no reservation whatsoever!

This is the 2nd time I used Quality Preferred Painting to paint one of my apartment turnovers. The last time there was some tricky work to do. The walls were naturally colored red brick that I wanted to paint white. Steve knew exactly what to use and the process to make these walls beautiful. I was so impressed with the quality of work and overall service the 1st time that I decided to get in touch with Steve again to paint another apartment. This time I was under a tight timeline as the new tenant was moving in on Sunday, so I only had a few days to get the work done. Although this is a very busy time of year for the company, Steve assured me that the apartment will get done for me before the tenant moves in. The Quality Preferred crew worked late into Saturday night to make this happen. Steve met with me to look at the job and agreed to do it on an hourly basis with an estimated amount of hours. When the job was done Steve sent me pictures of the finish product and told me the job went well and it took less hours than he estimated, so the cost would be less than originally projected. Since I live down the Cape and had no knowledge of the time spent on the work, this honesty was especially appreciated. The work was meticulous, as usual, and Steve made what is usually a chore, a very pleasant experience. Will definitely be using Quality Preferred Painting again the next time a project comes up.

These guys were amazing. From the quality of their work to their overall attitude towards the job, my family, and myself it was of the highest quality. I would use them over and over again. They took the time to keep the job site clean and orderly while they were here and each evening when they left. The attention to detail was like nothing I have seen. They hand washed gutters, downspouts and windows. They repaired any nail holes and fixed poor carpentry work. The trim was hand painted with the utmost care.

I thought that Quality Preferred Painting would come in with a too-high job cost because Steve came across as so very professional. I was happily surprised when he gave us a reasonable quote, one that was much less than another company who had also impressed me. During the years that I have lived here, in my opinion, Quality Preferred Painting is the most professional Company I have ever hired.
Steve was also very helpful when we were trying to decide on color choices and his crew ALWAYS showed up, and on time. I was constantly impressed by how neat they were.
Our 4-storied condominium hall walls and ceilings were done to perfection. His carpet man was excellent as well.

We requested a quote by phone, they provided that, but also came by to assess the work, and were able to start immediately after (which they did and finished exactly when promised.) The job involved very intricate grass cloth wallpaper with difficult seams that are now barely visible after installation. They provided consultation and advice with the purchase of the wallpaper before and during installation.
We had put our house on the market in the Fall for 60 days without an offer, despite strong traffic. We decided to wallpaper the living room and paint the trim a week before putting it back. Quality Preferred Painting was able to make this possible with their very fast-turnaround and reasonable rates. As a result, we received a full-price offer within a week and *everyone* raved at how great the living room looks. Steve and his crew were great, as was the price. They were there at 7:30 am promptly every morning, were pleasant to talk to, paid attention to detail, and cleaned up every day. The quality of the work was excellent. I was especially worried that they would get paint on the newly-installed wood cabinetry trim, but their lines were perfect. Our kitchen contractor was also impressed with their work. Steve was also very good about communicating over email. He frequently sent me information about what was remaining to be done the next day, or if there were going to be delays due to rain. The work and the price were great, as was the team. This is the second time I’ve used Steve and his crew. The first was on a kitchen remodel we did last year; this time was a basement renovation.
The crew was different than last time, but the experience was the same – great. Steve came over and took a long time to talk with us about what we wanted to do, and gave advice on staining and paint types. He was extremely thorough in evaluating the job, unlike some other painters who come in and just glance quickly around the space.
His crew showed up “exactly” at 7:30 every morning and waited patiently in their cars for us to come, let them in, so that they wouldn’t wake up our infant son. They were extremely professional and took great pains to prep the space so that they didn’t damage the new floors. Every night when they left the space was clean of clutter.
I would like to compliment you highly on your staff. Absolute top marks to the two of them!
I appreciated you being able to start the job so quickly after giving us an estimate also.Sagrado and Jimmy did a beautiful job and are a great team. They arrived on time both days they were here, took about 10 minutes tops for lunch the first day, stayed til they finished a large part of the work and finished the job the next day. They were very organized and neat in their work also, leaving the equipment and cans covered and moved into a corner for the night.
The whole job looks terrific! The repaired cathedral ceiling and walls look like new and the kitchen and hallway ceilings are bright and clean. They masked everything with plastic and drop cloths for each stage of the project so the house stayed perfectly clean and dragged those huge ladders in and out without a scratch anywhere in the house. They were fun to listen to also, got along well, and worked very well together. The tinted shellac primer did the trick and the finished paint looks wonderful.
I would recommend your company to anyone. If you need a reference at any time, call on us.
